Tai O Tuen Ng Celebrations

The Dragon Boat Festival is the perfect time for a retreat at Tai O Heritage Hotel! Don’t miss out on the chance to witness the iconic Tai O Dragon Boat Parade, a sacred ritual passed down through generations for over a century.

Come to Tai O and experience a truly unique Dragon Boat Festival with us this year!

Tai O Dragon Boat Water Parade
Each year, Tai O commemorates the Dragon Boat Festival with the iconic Tai O Dragon Boat Water Parade - a sacred ritual passed down for over a century. In 2011, it was inscribed onto the third national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

On the festival's eve, the three fishermen's associations in Tai O row their dragon boats to visit temples and bring back deity statues for worship. On the day of the festival, the statues are placed on sacred sampans towed by the dragon boats to parade along the waterways of Tai O, invoking good fortune and peace to the village.
